Blog #1
My favorite saying would be "laughing makes you live longer," which a friend of mine told me, Herbert E.. Right now I am in Northerns libary by the window in the inclosed box with a guy behind me. Its very cold in the libary and quiet at the moment. All I can hear is me typing and they guy behind me moving around. Northern is fine its not what i thought college was about though, its more calm then I expected but I overexaggerate. Everyone seems more comfortable with themselves here instead of highschool, which is a plus. In my classes no one really talks they just take their notes, listen, and leave. Some students are spunkier than other and pump up compared to other who dread waking up in the morning. All the students have one thing in common their here to learn since its their free time and choosed to go. Well my a few of my instructors talk quiet which makes it hard for me to hear so I tend to start daydreaming. For the most part of my instructors I like all of them. My biggest challege this semseter would probably be Human Anatomy, Froilands class. Its one of my biggest class so their really no one-on-one learning. A new term I learned so far in Human Anatomy would be pseudostratifed, which means falsey layered. Pseudostratifed is lines are bladder its the only tissue that can change from stratifed squamous, cuboial, or columnar. I've had a few pleasant events happen so far my first week of College, well I have all my class with Shaun which helps me out so if I need to ask someone for help shes more easier to talk to then students I don't know. Another pleasant event was that I found all my classes and wasen't even late. Some habitats I already possess are taking down information in my planner for when assignments are due. Also that Im determined to get the task done in time and to study using flashcards. Habitats that I need to lose is staying up till 2 in the morning since I did it all summer and getting to stressed about little things that will be fixed. For instance, my email got blocked and i didn't know where any of my classes were til the first day. That made me freak out but everything worked out. I don't really determine to right down certain things, I basically write everything they go over in class. Im suprised that my hand doesn't hurt yet. Active learning is processing information more affective to visual learning, flashcards instead of passive learning which is more like lectures and taking notes. Active learning gets you more involved in learning. "Stay out of bed," stated by Rollins College. This stuck out to me since I rather sleep than study, and I could see myself sleeping lots since of stress. Another quote that made an impact was "Even if I'd partied all night, I dragged my body to class. Other people's notes don't work . . . you have to hear it yourself," advice from Graduate, English, Indiana University. I like to have fun and this just stuck out since I could see myself sleeping in when I have lectures at 8 a.m., very bad. One goal for next week is to do fantastic on my Algebra quiz than last week score.

I like your choice of BT quotes, always always drag your butt to class! It is a hard adjustment from summer and staying up until 2am, for sure.
ReplyDeleteWe'll be discussing note-taking strategies because yes, if you continue to write down everything your Profs say or do, you are going to end up with a broken hand!
Glad you know how to use a planner and are sticking with it - it is essential to your success here.
10/10 Great job!
